A wonderful experience

This past weekend I ate at Skip's for the first time with my husband and five-year-old daughter. My friends had been urging me to go for months but I'm hesitant to take my daughter to nice restaurants. I cannot say enough how much we enjoyed Skip's-not only did the food rival any I've ever had, but the atmosphere was perfect. From the minute we stepped inside, everyone was gracious and friendly-the hostess and our waitress were so wonderful and accommodating with my daughter. The restaurant itself was elegantly decorated but not at all stuffy-there was even a blazing fire! My husband had the New York strip, cooked to absolute perfection. I had the house specialty-prime rib! Both of our meals were three-courses and wonderfully cooked, and I was particularly impressed with the Clam Chowder-I couldn't believe when the waitress told me all the soups are homemade. That kind of attention to detail and quality was evident in the entire meal. I will be returning to Skip's soon with my girlfriends to try the full page martini menu!

Skips's has been my favorite for over 30 years. This is where you will have the best prime rib in the world! Guaranteed. High-quality beef - thick, juicy cuts that are incredibly tender and super flavorful. The menu selections are quite impressive. I usually order the Modest Cut with the creamy and pungent horseradish sauce but you can have a feast with the Skip's Cut, a whopping 40 ounces. Recently, my husband ordered the New York Strip Steak and raved about it. The seafood is excellent as well. Last summer I ordered grilled lobster tail and it was perfect. Succulent, tender and tasty. The service staff is the best in the area. They are so friendly, thorough and knowledgeable. You feel like you're part of a family in this restaurant. It's cozy, lively and fun. Go for excellent food and superb service. Highly recommended.

The Best Prime Rib...Ever

Great place to eat, especially if you like meat and lots of it. I was born and raised in Texas and spent over 30 years there, so I grew up appreciating good steaks and good meat of all types and I've got to tell you that the prime rib at Skip's beats any prime rib I've eaten anywhere...anywhere! I especially like the prime rib (Barb's Cut) blackened and Cajun style, but you have to ask for it that way since it's not a menu choice. You can't go wrong at Skip's for sheer amount of really good food and friendly service. Oh, and the other items on the menu are also great, but I keep coming back for the prime rib since that's my weak spot, so to speak. Great homemade soups, too, especially on a cold Winter night by the fireplace in the bar area.
